Welcome, Families!
Please see the newsletter and Class Dojo for specific updates. We planted pansies in front of the pre-k doors on Friday!
I am celebrating Ms. Maltz's return in one week and the fact that your children get to end their kindergarten year as they began- with their real teacher. We will use our journal this week to talk about all the things they have already accomplished and what is to come. Lots of fun things! I will continue to help in the classroom for most of the next week to transition the students as best as possible. I will also be subbing in Ms. Bethanie's in pre-k for the last month of the year, so I will be able to keep in touch with Room 104 and say "Hi!" often! We have talked about how it is ok to feel sad and happy at the same time. Helping with Teacher Transition This might be helpful for some. Walk-a-Thon incentive: win a $500 mattress
Any student or Ray staff member who is registered at http://rayschool.dojiggy.com and has begun fundraising by midnight on Friday April 27th will be entered in a raffle to win a Simmons queen mattress set worth $500. The winning student or staff member can come to our mattress sale on May 6th to try out the mattress set and have it delivered for free to their home! While exercise is important for health, a good night’s sleep is also important - make sure you’re getting quality sleep with a new mattress thanks to Just Get Sleep, our mattress sale fundraising partner! Register your student(s) for the Walk-a-Thon today. We are 1 week into 4th Quarter. A bit crazy how fast it goes.
Please refer to Class Dojo updates and my newsletter this week for specifics. Ms. Maltz returns in 2 weeks. The students are very excited. The week before she returns, we will celebrate all they have learned and all that is to come to keep them excited. Thank you to everyone who came to Report Card Pick Up last week. Our theme this week is more Earth Day celebration and Five Senses. We will participate in a trash pick up on the playground, as organized by the Garden Committee. Hello 104 Families,
A letter went home on Thursday, announcing that Ms. Maltz is returning on May 7th! I will be there, overlapping her return for a bit to help the students as much as possible. There are so many exciting things planned for the remainder of the year and it is wonderful that they get to end as they began- with their real teacher. Please watch Class Dojo for updates and photos. We are finishing our theme of weather this week. There is no school on Wednesday, April 18, because I get to meet with all of you for Report Card Pick Up! I am looking forward to our conversations. For specifics, please see the Class Dojo posts and the paper newsletter that comes home every Monday (see a copy posted on this website under "Weekly Newsletters" tab).

Friday, May 18 Register your student at https://rayschool.dojiggy.com/ng/index.cfm/b11f872/reg-signup/pledge or go to the Ray School Website to find more information. Fun and Fitness: During the Walk-a-Thon, our students reach for their personal best distance during their walk-skip-run around our school playground, while family and volunteers cheer them on. Fundraising: The Walk-a-Thon is also a fundraiser. Whether it's $5, $25 or $100, we hope that each family will financially participate in the Walk-a-Thon to the best of their ability. I've dressed up as the Warrior to cheer kids on and it is a blast! Come help, volunteer, all students will participate during the school day! It's great fun. Monday we are back in the swing of things. Here's hoping everyone had a nice, relaxing break but are looking forward to the routine of school again! (I did and am!)

I hope the news on Monday morning isn't too harsh for our little kinders. I'm prepared with a Daniel Tiger episode about losing one's fish if needed.
