Welcome, Families!
Register for the Walk-A-Thon
Friday, May 18 Register your student at https://rayschool.dojiggy.com/ng/index.cfm/b11f872/reg-signup/pledge or go to the Ray School Website to find more information. Fun and Fitness: During the Walk-a-Thon, our students reach for their personal best distance during their walk-skip-run around our school playground, while family and volunteers cheer them on. Fundraising: The Walk-a-Thon is also a fundraiser. Whether it's $5, $25 or $100, we hope that each family will financially participate in the Walk-a-Thon to the best of their ability. I've dressed up as the Warrior to cheer kids on and it is a blast! Come help, volunteer, all students will participate during the school day! It's great fun.

Our field trip is on Tuesday to the Aquarium. Please send a disposable lunch.
This is our last week of school before Spring Break. Break is March 26-30. We did get our fish! One died over the weekend already- part of our learning. I hope the news on Monday morning isn't too harsh for our little kinders. I'm prepared with a Daniel Tiger episode about losing one's fish if needed. The students have thoroughly enjoyed the fish journal. This week we move on to studying WORMS! Please see the newsletter for more updates. Stay up-to-date with photos and news on Class Dojo as well! Here are some updates from the middle of 3rd Quarter...
- We will be going to the Shedd Aquarium on Tues, March 20 - We will be starting a fish unit together... there may be fish as classroom pets very soon... - There are no progress reports for kindergarten, but I will be sending home a general assessment that I will be giving in the next few weeks to show how your student is doing. Please remember it is ONE measurement, ONE way to look at how your child is progressing. - Our classroom pet, Star, has been home with several students. Several other students keep reminding me that they have not had a turn to take her home. We will get to everyone who signed up... be patient, lil' grasshoppers! - Our Student of the Weeks have been very fun to celebrate! - Please continue to read the front and back of the paper newsletter that comes home each Monday. I also post the pdf here on the Weekly Newletters tab. Things are going well in 104! Dr. Seuss week was too good to end! We trickled a few more of his books and activities into this week.
Please note that I will be out of the classroom on Monday and Tuesday, due to a previously scheduled trip. My apologies, but Mrs. Burks will cover and the children are excited! Field trip money and forms are due this Friday (the trip is on March 20). We will learn about maps for the rest of the week. Please see the newsletter and Class Dojo updates for any more information. Newsletters are uploaded to this site weekly. |
