Welcome, Families!
Hello 104 Families,
I am doing almost all of my communicating through Class Dojo. Every student should have received an invitation to join last week in their child's folder and/or through email. If you have not joined, please do! You are missing out on great photos and updates and reminders! If you need help, please email at [email protected]. We had a lot of fun this past week and I am looking forward to week 2 together! I also send home a paper newsletter each week. This website will be very general as there are these other two avenues for getting information and, to be frank, the multiple updates at different places is redundant and time-consuming. I will post each week here for general overviews. MATH: We talked about estimating and symmetry. READING: We talked about the organization of books (titles, page numbers), shopped for evidence of our inferencing (what page in the book made you think that?), and shopped for different punctuation marks (periods, exclamation points, question marks, and commas). SOCIAL: We are reviewing transition expectations, talking about being friends, and I am coaching them on saying to each other, "Please don't do that," when something happens they don't like, instead of always coming to the teacher. THANK YOU for the lovely support from home this week- a few folks stepped up last minute with snacks, I got notes for communication from a parent or two, and got permission slips after I called home. It's been a really good week in 104.
