Welcome, Families!
I had a lot of fun today on day one with your kindergarteners. I hope they all can report back to home something fun that they did today. As with any transition, there is a lot to learn and a lot to relearn. They were good helpers and good friends today.

Thank you Ray Families! Gayle Harris-Neely Assistant Principal William H. Ray Elementary School Make it a great day to be a Ray Warrior! Dear 104 families, It is with sadness that I must share with you that I am leaving Ray School. My last day will be Friday, 1/12/18. I will be going over to Germany to teach English to young children in an original German kindergarten. I am very sorry for this inconvenience - however, I felt I must take the position as it is a once in a lifetime experience, and it has been difficult to find a permanent position here in CPS. Fortunately, the administration has identified a perfect replacement who has a strong connection to Ray School, and I am very happy to introduce her to you. She has several years of experience teaching in CPS and in private school. She also has two children at Ray School and Mr. Papczun is one of the 6th grade teachers. She gladly welcomes your emails at [email protected]. On a different note, please feel free to revisit the newsletters which I have posted, and where you can see some of the things I did with Room 104 during my short time here in the month of December. I really did enjoy getting to know each child, even for such a short time. Your children have been very resilient through all of these changes, and I know they will be great with Ms. Papczun. I also appreciate all of the help and flexibility I have received from you as well. I am also attaching some pictures of our fun happenings our last week of school before winter break! Kind regards, Ms. Weidler Ugly/Beautiful Sweater Contest Winners! Dreidel game! Making tasty penguins! Making snowflakes and stars!
